The Challenge

For over 10 years, 83zero and 83data have positioned themselves as strong recruitment partners for several innovative businesses across the tech, digital and data sectors. At the start of 2024, the brands recognised that to fully leverage and continue their success, they needed to further build their market presence.

Upon an initial discussion and exploration with Marmalade Marketing, it was clear that the best way to do this would be to ensure their branding reflects the cutting-edge nature of their clients and respective sectors. Their challenge was twofold: refreshing an outdated brand and harmonising the visual and communication strategies to project a unified, modern image that appealed to the very best talent and forward-thinking companies.

Our Approach

Rebranding is more than just slapping on a new coat of paint; it’s a deep dive into what makes a company tick. Marmalade Marketing kicked off with a Brand Discovery Workshop that became the foundation of a robust rebrand strategy. The aim here was to incorporate the unique strengths, aspirations, and achievements of 83zero and 83data into a refreshed brand identity that resonated well with both candidates and clients.

With insights from in-depth discussions and market analysis, our creative team embarked on creating a vibrant visual identity that matched the companies' unique approaches to recruitment. This involved:

  • Developing two distinct yet aligned moodscapes to capture the essence and synergy of both 83zero and 83data.

  • Designing new logos, selecting a revised colour palette, and choosing typography that reflected the skill and precision of 83zero and 83data’s industries.

  • Aligning the brand messaging across all platforms to ensure consistency and clarity in communication.

The website overhaul was pivotal. We consulted with 83zero and 83data to select a new website partner who would match their ambitions, then supplied a new information architecture and content stacks, ensuring that the new digital presence offered a positive user experience and aligned perfectly with the brand’s vision.

Our Results

The brand refresh was a resounding success; both 83zero and 83data launched their new identities to fantastic reviews from clients, candidates, and their internal teams. The refreshed brands sparked renewed interest in their markets, helping to attract a higher calibre of candidates and engagements from exciting companies across the sector.

Web Traffic Surge:

Website sessions skyrocketed by over 280% in the three months following the rebrand compared to the previous quarter. This came about from comprehensive key word research, developing new and enhanced pieces of content and better navigational structure across the website. We completely project managed the website relaunch including UX, CX and integrations with recruitment automation tools.

Social Media Impact: 

Organic traffic from social media platforms soared by 456%, demonstrating the power of effective brand communication.
