Curate and Create: Content for Quick Wins

Curate and Create: Content for Quick Wins

We’re die-hard champions of content here at Marmalade Marketing. Not only is content vital in increasing brand awareness, and keeping in touch with your audience, but it’s also a cost-effective lead-generation tool. In fact, Content marketing costs 62% less than traditional marketing, and generates about 3 times as many leads. So there’s no doubt that content is king (or queen, in our opinion).

With organic content leading the way with brand strategy,  60% of marketers create at least one piece of content each day. But whilst you’re busying yourself with blogs, whitepapers and webinars, your social media channels still need attention - after all, those Tweets won’t type themselves!

We know that social media is another key cog for a well-oiled marketing machine, and maintaining your presence here comes with its own long list of benefits. We know what you’re thinking - how would I find the time to create organic content and keep my social media up to scratch?

Look to curated content for the answers.

Simply put, social curation is sharing relevant and valuable content to engage your audience from other sources. Think insights from thought-leaders in your industry, reshares from your readers, and relevant news articles - essentially, content that is both interesting for your audience and aligned with your organic content.

Take us for example! As a Recruitment Marketing Agency, email marketing is like our bread and butter (or Marmalade!). Whilst we’re busy away in the background, we source relevant articles around topics like email marketing, to share with our audience.

Don’t Just Hit Retweet

Still, it’s important to put your own stamp on it - that means, don’t just get click-happy with the share button! This not only helps to support your own content marketing strategy, but strengthens your tone of voice and brand positioning too. It doesn’t have to be too lengthy - just let your readers know why you’re sharing and what value the content can offer them. Consider asking questions that spark a response or calls to action and you’re in for a quick win.

Plan, Prepare then Execute

On the surface, scrolling through and finding relevant articles may sound a little laborious - but it doesn’t have to be. Consider aligning your curated content with the organic content in the planning stages. That way, you’ll be able to prepare the articles when organising your social media strategy - see, it’s time-effective too! Using social media scheduling tools will help to put your plans in place, letting you concentrate on getting your organic content in tip-top shape.

Find Your Tribe

When looking ahead to your social curation strategy, it’s a good idea to ‘find your tribe’ - who exactly are the influencers in your industry, who you can rely on for the best possible content? Put yourself in the audience's shoes - think about what they will want to see. If you’re not already, follow industry leaders on LinkedIn and keep a bank of resources that you can reference for future content curation.

Ultimately, social content curation helps to drive home your organic strategies, balances your output, and keeps your conversations exciting. It’s cost and time-effective to boot, too! So what are you waiting for? Whilst you keep busy creating, look to curated content to keep your channels and audience engaged.
